Cars, Camaraderie, and a Cause Greater Than Ourselves
By Alexander Cartigan – Chief Editor
At Worn & Driven, we have always believed that the automotive world is at its most meaningful when passion is paired with purpose.
That belief was on full display during our recent time with Drive Toward a Cure , one of our proud charity partners, for their unforgettable “Get Me to the Greek” getaway weekend which included “A Taste of Drive Toward a Cure’s Cars and Camaraderie® for Classics and Exotics” for Worn & Driven members and held in Los Angeles.
This was more than an automotive gathering. It was a reminder of why this community matters.
An Evening Beneath the Hollywood Sky
The weekend began on Saturday evening at the iconic Greek Theatre, where guests gathered for an intimate Pre-Concert Private Reception hosted on the venue’s scenic Redwood Deck.
Nestled into the hillside, under glowing twinkle lights and the open California sky, the atmosphere felt unmistakably magical.
There is something special about automotive events when the cars are temporarily parked, the helmets are off, and the conversations take center stage.
The reception was lively in all the right ways. Great music drifted through the air. Cocktails were flowing. Conversations carried effortlessly from one group to the next. Enthusiasts exchanged stories of morning rally highlights while new friendships were formed over a shared appreciation for cars, craftsmanship, and cause-driven community.

One of the most rewarding parts of the evening was reconnecting with members of the Worn & Driven family who had joined the festivities. There is always something gratifying about hearing firsthand what resonated most with them.
For some, it was the roads.
For others, the machinery.
And for many, it was something far more human: the camaraderie.
We also had the opportunity to meet participants from the earlier rally portion of the event, hearing their stories while the excitement of the day was still fresh. Those conversations are where the soul of events like this truly lives.
Music, Memory, and Hollywood Magic
As the evening transitioned, guests made their way into the legendary Greek Theatre for Neil Forever: Love at The Greek, a 50th Anniversary Tribute.
Set beneath the open night sky, surrounded by the energy of Los Angeles and the unmistakable atmosphere only an outdoor amphitheater can create, the performance felt cinematic.
The crowd was alive.
The music carried across the hillside.
The mood was electric yet intimate.
It was one of those rare Los Angeles evenings that reminds you why this city can still feel magical.
The Sunday Signature Run

The following morning brought us back to what enthusiasts know best.
Engines on.
Coffee in hand.
Convoy formation.
The Sunday Signature Run departed from the Sun Rose Hotel at 9:00 AM, sending a line of classics and exotics through some of Southern California’s most celebrated canyon roads.
This is where Drive Toward a Cure excels.
From mountain curves to sweeping coastal descents, the route delivered exactly what automotive enthusiasts crave: engaging roads, breathtaking scenery, and the unmistakable joy of driving in formation with people who understand why these experiences matter.
There is a rhythm to a well-organized convoy that is difficult to explain unless you have experienced it yourself. The synchronized movement, the anticipation of the next corner, the occasional glance in the mirror at a line of beautifully engineered machines stretching behind you.
This is not simply driving.
It is shared experience.
A Hidden Automotive Treasure
The highlight of the day came with access to something truly extraordinary.
A private visit to the Mike Malamut Auto Museum.
Calling it simply a car collection would be doing it a disservice.
This was an immersive walk through automotive history and Americana.
Beyond the remarkable vehicles themselves, the museum is home to a fascinating collection of roadside memorabilia, vintage radios, jukeboxes, televisions, packaging, furniture, and cultural artifacts that transport visitors into another era.
Every corner revealed something unexpected.
Every room told a story.
The diversity of the automotive collection made the experience even more compelling. Vehicles spanning vastly different eras, design philosophies, and cultural significance sat alongside artifacts that reminded us how deeply cars have always intersected with everyday life.
It was intimate, personal, and genuinely unforgettable.
The kind of experience money cannot simply buy.
One Final Stop in Malibu
The weekend concluded in fitting fashion with lunch at Zinqué in Malibu, where conversations continued over a well-earned meal before farewells were exchanged.

These closing moments are often the most meaningful.
The schedule slows.
The adrenaline fades.
And what remains is gratitude.
Gratitude for the roads.
Gratitude for the people.
And gratitude for being part of something with real purpose.
Purpose in Motion
At Worn & Driven, philanthropy is not an afterthought. It is part of the DNA of what we are building.
That is why we are especially proud to support Drive Toward a Cure and the important work they continue to do.
Their mission is deeply meaningful:
To create purpose-driven automotive experiences that raise both funds and awareness for Parkinson’s disease research and patient care, offering an alternative to traditional for-profit rally programs.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Drive Toward a Cure transforms automotive passion into measurable impact.
Deb Pollack – Founder | DTaC, and Alexander Cartigan - Founder & CEO | Worn & Driven
A special thank you goes to Deb Pollack, whose leadership, dedication, and tireless work made this weekend such a success. Organizing an experience of this caliber is no small feat. Doing so while advancing a mission that supports those affected by Parkinson’s disease makes it even more admirable.
We are incredibly grateful to have been included.
Because when cars bring people together for something bigger than themselves, the result is always memorable.
And when that purpose helps drive hope forward, it becomes something far more important.
